Join us for one of our most popular classes! Your family and house guests won't soon forget waking up to the aroma of butter, cinnamon, and brown sugar from freshly baked sweet rolls. Learn how it's done! In this two-day class*, we'll teach the basic techniques of creating a sweet dough. You'll get plenty of hands-on practice in class with mixing, kneading, hand-shaping, and proofing yeasted doughs. We'll also show you how versatile our sweet dough is in a selection of recipes both sweet and savory.
On Day One, we'll make our sweet dough, before refrigerating it overnight, and answer any questions you may have. On Day Two, we'll teach you how to make three delicious treats with our sweet dough: cinnamon rolls, pecan sticky buns, and a cheesy braid.
You'll leave the BAKE! class with our recipes, the knowledge to recreate them at home, and all the sweet dough baked goods you made in class.
* Please note, this class takes place over two days. You’ll have the option of making two out three items with your batch of sweet dough: 6-8 large cinnamon rolls, a pan of pecan sticky buns, and a cheesy braid. (You can make all three recipes in class, you'll just need to make a second batch of sweet dough).
What our guests have to say about this class:
I've been baking for years and have worked in a bakery—I just love learning new tricks I might not know. —Barb S.
The cinnamon rolls were as light as pillows and the taste was pure heaven. —Joyce S.
Such a nice experience! I don't have much baking experience and I loved every minute of it! —Jolie S.
This was my best class yet, out of probably a dozen. I love the versatility of what I can do with the dough. —Beth S.
Breezy Breakfasts Cookbooklet
What’s for breakfast? Breezy Breakfasts, the second in our series of cookbooklets, celebrates classic baked breakfast fare we’ve been rustling up for nearly all of our history. The cookbooklet includes make-at-home recipes for 11 of our most favorite easy, breezy, quick-baked breakfast treats--muffins, scones, and porridges--plus 20 bread and garnish combinations to elevate your approach to toast. Shipping is included in the price of the cookbooklet.
Basic Pastry Baking Kit
Our Basic Pastry Kit is ideal for newer pastry bakers, and includes tools we typically use for baked goods like scones, cookies, and brownies. It comes packed with the following equipment: a bowl scraper, a bench knife, an oven thermometer, ten sheets of parchment paper, a small pastry brush, a small offset spatula, 1 oz portion scoop, and a french rolling pin. The price includes ground shipping. For more in-depth equipment descriptions please go to our FAQ page or send us an email at [email protected].
My Weigh Kitchen Scale
A scale is the perfect way to take the guesswork out of your measuring, but not all scales are created equal. The My Weigh KD-8000 is one of our favorites, and it's the same version of the scale our instructors use during BAKE! Classes. We like it because it weighs accurately down to 1 gram/0.05 oz, which means even small measurements will be precise. It also has a Baker's Math function that lets you calculate percentages of other ingredients in a recipe based on the total weight of your flour—a great way to figure out your dough's hydration, or to scale a recipe up or down!
The scale is battery-powered (but comes with an AC adapter if you'd rather have it plugged in) and has a weight capacity of up to 8000 grams/17.62 lb. It features a backlit LCD readout with a protective cover, and a removable platform for easy cleaning. Shipping is included in the price.
