Our BAKE!-cations® are the ultimate experience for the home baker! We feature both week-long and weekend BAKE!-cations® that include breakfast and lunch everyday, and we promise that you'll need to bring along an empty suitcase to bring home all the great stuff you've made.

BAKE!-cation Weekend: Bread

Our BAKE!-cations® are the ultimate experience for the home baker! We guide you through a comprehensive education in baking techniques in a fun, exciting, relaxed, and always hands-on classroom full of good humor and expert instruction. Your BAKE!-cation® includes breakfast and lunch every day including lunch from Zingerman's Deli on day two. You'll need an empty suitcase to bring home all the great food you've made!

This will be an intensive weekend of baking and demonstrations of some of our favorite breads: Sourdough, Farm, 8 Grain, Paesano, Detroit Style Pizza, Wurtzelbrot, Vortekaker, Quinoa Flax, Biscuits, Cornbread, Roadhouse Bread, Lángos, Grissini, and Bialys.

You’ll leave BAKE! With our recipes, the knowledge to recreate them at home, all the food you made in class, and some great coupons.

BAKE!-cation Weekend: Cake

Our BAKE!-cations® are the ultimate experience for the home baker! We guide you through a comprehensive education in baking techniques in a fun, exciting, relaxed, and always hands-on classroom full of good humor and expert instruction. Your BAKE!-cation® includes breakfast and lunch every day including lunch from Zingerman's Deli on day two. 

Want to learn to create five very different, beautiful and delicious cakes and go home with them too? Then join us for this cake lover's dream BAKE!-cation weekend! We'll make sponge cake, butter cake, flourless cake, lady fingers, butter cream, and fondant. You'll also learn techniques for splitting cake layers, crumb coating, icing, rolling fondant, butter cream piping, and basic decorating. You'll learn these recipes and skills while making a couple of the Bakehouse's most popular cakes- the "ribbon cake", an all American butter cake with chocolate butter cream and fondant ribbons and Hummingbird cake, a southern classic with pineapple, pecan, banana, and coconut. Then we'll make a few European Coffeehouse classics: the Austrian Cardinal Slice with espresso and two Hungarian tortas—the Esterházy with walnuts and Rigó Jancsi with dark chocolate and rum.

You'll leave BAKE! with several BAKE!-tested recipes, the knowledge to recreate them at home, a full stomach, and five complete cakes you made in class. You'll also go home with some great coupons.

Our BAKE!-cations® are the ultimate experience for the home baker! We guide you through a comprehensive education in baking techniques in a fun, exciting, relaxed, and always hands-on classroom full of good humor and expert instruction. Your BAKE!-cation® includes breakfast and lunch every day, including lunch from Zingerman's Deli on the second day. You'll need an empty suitcase to bring home all the great food you've made!

The world of pie is big, round (usually), and deep (dish)! In this flaky, filling, and fun BAKE!-cation weekend we’ll make a whole gambit of pies—chicken pot pie; fried fruit pie; Patti Pocket hand pies; cream pie; double-crust Jumbleberry pie; calzones pizza pie with Parmigiano Reggiano®; beef pasty pie; Bakehouse signature pecan pie; hot water crust pie with pancetta, white bean, and swiss chard filling; and Mississippi mud pie. Hold onto your rolling pins—this is going to be some weekend!
