Pizza: The Other American Pie

Ah, the pizza pie! It's a cornerstone of the American diet, and yet so few folks actually make pizza at home! In this two-day class*, we'll teach you how easy and fun it can be to make New York-style and Chicago-style pizza recipes with a variety of cheeses, including Parmigiano Reggiano®, and toppings. We'll also share our recipe for Pizza Bianca, with the option of you making it with us in class or just watching the demonstration.

On Day One, we'll make our New York-style pizza dough, which needs to rest overnight, make Chicago-style pizza dough and sauce, shape and bake the Chicago-style pizza, and we'll also mix our poolish for our Pizza Bianca.

On Day Two, we'll make up our Pizza Bianca dough, make our New York pizza sauce, then shape, top, and bake our New York pizzas. We'll also bake our Pizza Bianca, topped with olive oil, salt, and parmesan cheese.

You'll leave the BAKE! class with our recipes, the knowledge to recreate them at home, and everything you made in class: two different pizza sauces, four pizzas (2 New York-style and 2 Chicago-style) and one Pizza Bianca, if you made it in class.  

The next time you reach for the phone to order pizza delivery, you'll remember it's fun and a lot more flavorful to make it yourself.

My Weigh Kitchen Scale

It also has a Baker's Math function that lets you calculate percentages of other ingredients in a recipe based on the total weight of your flour—a great way to figure out your dough's hydration, or to scale a recipe up or down!
